Week 0 - Introduction
I'll start by saying that I've been on Livejournal for a long-ass time - almost a decade (how has this happened?). I have a lot of experience writing introductory posts. Unfortunately, looking back over them, I have to say that they're all pretty run-of-the-mill. Most of them even say the exact same things. Do you really care about my childhood? Honestly. I am wild and reckless and in my mid-twenties (well, I'm in my mid-twenties, anyway). Let's stay in the now.
So here's the now:
I think those are basically the salient points. I wish I could say that I am some kind of fabulous jet-setter with a successful career and cash to burn, but tragically I'm just another dippy kid finding her place in the world.
So here's the now:
- I am twenty-four years old.
- I am a high school English teacher. It is often the bane of my existence, but I can't deny that it's been the source of some of my greatest joys.
- I've married my complete and utter geekitude to a love of fashion and pop culture, becoming marginally socially acceptable in my ripe old age. I love both worlds unapologetically.
- Unfortunately, I am still just as introverted and awkward as ever. Two steps forward, one step back. So it goes, so it goes.
- Through use of my fledgling wiles, I managed to trap a pretty awesome guy into a relationship with me. He turned out to be a fellow undercover geekbot, which is probably why he puts up with my various idiosyncrasies. We have been together for a year and a half now.
- I am intelligent, good-humored, and compassionate. I am also vain, weird, and quick-tempered. Fair's fair.
I think those are basically the salient points. I wish I could say that I am some kind of fabulous jet-setter with a successful career and cash to burn, but tragically I'm just another dippy kid finding her place in the world.

(and aren't we all just dippy kids trying to find our collective way in the world?)

(Probably... I like to think that I'll get the hang of it eventually, though! We'll just have to see!)
