Of greetings
Hello, DreamWidth!
Finally, I am here. Now the question remains - what shall I do with this space? I want to make it something different. I've already got my LiveJournal for regular old day-to-day stuff, and ostensibly I have a blog on Blogger (how repetitive) for all my nerdy needs. Unfortunately, I do not often use the Blogger blog, so perhaps I should transfer all of my book reviews and fandomish things here? Sometimes I think that I need some kind of tangible (well, tangible-ish) community to keep posting. Otherwise it feels a bit like shouting into the dark.

Right now, I'm using my DW as a public journal/blog--something that I haven't had in a very long time, and sometimes miss. Also, I'm very interested in checking out a lot of the communities right now. Because this is a very new service, there's a lot of interest in community-building it seems. And that's something nice to have.
But, I do agree with you on the needing community to motivate posting. I post because I'm looking for feedback and interaction and community--if I wasn't, then I'd stick to a paper journal!

The community thing is so much of what I love about LJ, but I think that DW has the potential to be even better - at least now, in the early stages, when it's rather small and most people seem to be on the same wavelength blogwise.
