Maybe Dan Rottenburg should stop showing his ass if he's so concerned about body parts on display.

TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE & RAPE CULTURE
Lara Logan, the CBS reporter who was separated from her crew while covering the revolution in Egypt and brutally raped by a mob of men is apparently to blame for her abuse because she once had cleavage. Right here, in black and white, Dan Rottenburg says that women who don't want to be raped should stop going outside and wear turtlenecks.
Sign the petition to have Rottenburg removed as editor. Stay away from the comments: he refers to this as "avant guarde" journalism (I WAS JOKING!!!) and accuses the people who are angry of making mountains out of molehills and stopping conversation.

If this guy wears an open shirt at the neck does that mean any woman that he inflames to lust he must service.
This guy has no business being in the public industry. He needs to move to Egypt or Turkey or Iraq.
If a man could be raped and was as often as women are the laws would be a lot tougher and remarks like this wouldn't exist. Hell yes I signed the petition. Every woman on-line needs to sign this.
I thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I'm not even going to get into the part where they're like "no, women don't need to wear turtle necks, but they shouldn't be wearing tube tops or daisy dukes either."

Also, did anybody read the follow up article where he twists his own words? My favorite part was this:
To all readers of BSR: Since I constantly talk about using BSR as a tool to educate myself, you may well ask: What have I learned from this experience? A great deal. A few highlights:
— Many women (and men) send out signals that they’d like to have sex. It doesn’t follow that they’d like to be raped.
Well, that's exactly what the asshole implied in the first article!

If rape and sexual assault was anywhere near as prevalent for men as it is for women, I really do believe that there would be less of this kind of mentality - that the victim was "asking for it."

Let me fix that sentence:
Don't ask a woman over to your house at night if you are unable to keep yourself from raping her.
or
Don't allow a woman into your house at night if you are a disgusting rapist.

And seriously, why do people still think rape is about lust? It's about power. Women get raped wearing everything from burqas to gas station uniforms - the rapist doesn't care.
UGH UGH UGH.

The worst thing is, I'm really not surprised somebody wrote this. Rape culture - it's everywhere.
